About JunkyCraft
JunkyCraft is a library of screen-free junk-modelling, kitchen-science and making projects for children aged 4–12 — built from the cardboard, bottles and store-cupboard ingredients you already have at home.
Why we made it
School holidays are long, and “I'm bored” arrives early. We wanted a place where a grown-up can find something good to make in a couple of minutes — matched to their child's age, with everything needed listed up front and no special kit to buy — and where the child is making and finding out, not watching.
How the projects work
- 50 projects, each with a materials list, clear numbered steps and a note of how messy it gets and how much grown-up help is needed.
- Age ranges on every project, and child profiles so the library only shows what suits each of your children.
- Safety notes wherever scissors, heat, hot water or small parts are involved — and anything needing a grown-up says so clearly.
- A “what you'll learn” for each project, so the fun comes with the why.
Meet the buddies
Every project is hosted by one of our two cartoon buddies, who talk children through each step in the narrated play-through.
🧪
Professor O — The science whizz
Professor O leads the kitchen-science and nature projects. He loves the why behind every fizz, bubble and bang — and makes it make sense.
🔨
Captain A — The maker
Captain A heads up the junk-modelling and building projects. Give him a cardboard box and some tape and he'll build almost anything.
The buddies are fictional characters, and their pictures and voices are created with AI tools.
Who's behind it
JunkyCraft is made in the UK by Aqua Fusion Media Ltd, a small technology company (company number 06770058). It's a service for parents and carers: accounts are held by adults, and we don't collect information from children. See our privacy policy for the details.
Say hello
