Climbing Spider String Toy
Ages 6–12⏱ 35 minMess: LOWGrown-up help: MediumJunk ModelEngineering & Building

Professor O will help you learn: Pulling the strings one at a time makes the spider climb because the angled straws grip the string with friction on one side and slide freely on the other. It is a hands-on way to explore forces, friction and angles.
⚠️ Keep long string away from young children's necks and never wrap it around anyone. Hang the toy from a secure handle or hook, and use child-safe scissors.
Steps
- Draw a round spider body about 10cm across on the card, cut it out and colour it black.
- Cut the pipe cleaners in half, bend each piece into a zigzag leg and tape four legs on each side of the back of the body.
