Eggshell Cress Heads

Draw funny faces on the clean, empty eggshell halves with felt-tips.

Sit each shell upright in a dip in the egg box so it cannot tip over.

Push a small ball of cotton wool into the bottom of each shell.

Dribble a little water onto the cotton wool so it is damp but not dripping.

Sprinkle a pinch of cress seeds evenly over the damp cotton wool in each shell.

Stand the egg box on a light, sunny windowsill.

Check every day and add a few drops of water to keep the cotton wool damp, and if the seeds dry out they will stop growing, so keep them moist.
