Shoebox Solar Oven

Line the inside bottom of the shoebox with black construction paper to absorb heat.

Cover all the interior walls and the inner side of the box lid with shiny aluminium foil to reflect sunlight.

Cut a flap in the top lid of the shoebox leaving a one-inch border around three edges.

Tape a double layer of clear plastic wrap across the opening created in the lid to seal in air.

Prop the flap open at an angle using a wooden skewer to catch and direct the sun rays into the box.

Place your marshmallow treat inside on the black paper, close the main lid tightly, and set the oven in direct sunlight.
