Wool Pom-Pom Garland

Cut two matching cardboard rings shaped like doughnuts and hold them together.

Wind wool round and round through the middle hole and over the outside edge, going all the way around until the hole is nearly full.

Keep winding on extra layers, changing colours if you like, until the ring is fat and chunky.

Ask an adult to slide the scissors between the two cardboard rings and carefully snip the wool all around the outside edge.

Slip a length of wool between the two rings, pull it tight around the middle and tie a very firm double knot.

Gently ease the cardboard rings off each side and fluff the ball into a round pom-pom, trimming any straggly bits.

Make several more pom-poms in the same way in different colours.

Thread a blunt needle with the long string and pass it through the middle of each pom-pom to string them into a garland, spacing them evenly.
